Quick & Dirty Tips For Submitting Your Book To Us
We’re opening to unagented manuscripts in the new year (13-26 January 2025) and while we already have lots of info on our website about what we’re looking for and other submission package tips, here’s a quicky list of things we think you should keep in mind.
While we don’t have an extensive list of what the editor is interested in, take a peek at her manuscript wish list. This will give a general sense of what we’re hoping to find in the submission pile and also tip you off to genres we aren’t the right fit for.
We also have a submission tool kit, which covers the following:

How to Write the Best One-Page Synopsis

Quick & Dirty Tips for Submitting
We require a query letter (approx 500 words), one-page synopsis and your full manuscript. Please don’t ask if you can send a partial.
You really should write a query letter and not just say, ‘Please find attached my manuscript. Thanks.’ We will quickly decline your submission in most cases if you don’t include a query letter.
Our word count for this reading period is 50k-90k words for novel manuscripts (we do have a grace of 1000 words in either direction). We are strict about this. If you’re ms is not within this range, we can’t consider it this time around.
We’re only searching for novels for the adult market (no YA or Children’s lit). We are not seeking novellas, non-fiction, poetry, plays, short story collections or novels in flash/story, etc. NOVELS ONLY.
One submission per writer.
Your manuscript must be original to you and not previously published, including no self-published submissions.
This window is really for unagented writers. If you have an agent but are submitting this on behalf of yourself without agent representation, please let us know in your query.
We’re not seeking series or duologies. We are only looking for standalone novels.
You can address your query to either, ‘Editor’ or ‘Ariell’. Either is fine.
If you missed the window, we unfortunately cannot consider your submission.
Please do not send your submission via email or any other way besides the submission form. If you are having trouble with the submission form, contact us with a screenshot of the error and a description of what’s happening.
We are seeking manuscripts written in English (no translations) from writers anywhere in the world. However, we prioritise writers residing in the UK and Ireland.
Please do not pitch us your book via email or social media. We will only consider manuscripts sent through the submission portal that is open from 13-26 January 2025.
